KYÖV Private Anatolian High School

KYÖV Private Anatolian High School follows a creative and innovative way in education with its rich and diversified education programs. It nurtures individuals who are effective, self-developed, and equipped with problem-solving and decision-making skills in the globalizing world. Instead of an education approach that sees students, families and teachers pacified, it advocates for and implements an education approach that focuses on these elements and is shaped in line with their expectations. Our school sees the teacher not only as an operator, but also as an active participant in fundamental decisions about education and school, as the most important and indispensable human resource on which to invest. Our system provides the necessary knowledge for a higher education program with its approaches and assessments in the education and training process. We believe in a flexible, participatory and democratic school culture and organization to realize all these aims.

In KYÖV Private Anatolian High School, scientific, social and cultural activities are supported in order to educate and nurture students as entrepreneurial, productive, problem-solving, responsible, and collaborative global citizens. KYÖV Private Anatolian High School students take part in national and international contests, various projects and studies in any field with students from different regions of the world or with other students under the umbrella of METU DF Schools. Activities such as MUN, Global Citizenship, School Media, TURMEPA, P4C, Young Speakers for Environment, conversations with authors, theatre plays, career education programs and sports tournaments can be given as examples for social, cultural and sporting activities.

Edexcel International GCSE and Global Citizenship programs are applied at the high school level. Students graduating from this program will have a certificate that will prove their level of proficiency in the English language on a global scale.

Students who receive the Edexcel International IGCSE Certificate can continue their high school education anywhere in the world at an international school or in England. This certificate provides our students with an important advantage in the process of admission to a university abroad.

Foreign Language Teaching

One of the missions of ODTÜ GV Private Kocaeli Schools is to provide quality foreign language education in a globalizing world where the importance of knowing a foreign language is increasing day by day in order to communicate. English education, which starts from kindergarten at ODTÜ GV Private Kocaeli Schools, is applied as a holistic program until the last year of high school.

Our aim in teaching English is to graduate students who can speak English fluently as an effective communication tool and who have reached the level of English proficiency that has been accepted nationally and internationally. Our programs at all levels have been prepared taking the age and developmental characteristics of our students into account, and aim to develop critical and creative thinking skills as well as four basic skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking.

By using monolingual learning method in English education, students are provided to discover the language rules themselves.

During the lessons, written and oral environments are created in which students can express their feelings and thoughts, defend their own views, and respond to different views put forward.

They are provided with opportunities to conduct research to encourage independent learning.

In order to increase students’ skills in problem solving, forming a consensus, reconciliation and cooperation, priority is given to pair and group work activities in the student-centered lessons.

Students are encouraged to participate in international competitions at all levels so that they can use the language they have learned in different environments and improve themselves in different fields.

By participating in JMUN and MUN conferences, our students are provided with benefits such as using the English language, speaking in front of the public and improving their skills to find solutions to the problems in today’s world.
